Testing Center Registration

The Ohio State University Testing Center allows students to sign up for test registrations after their professor has provided the necessary exam materials.

Testing days and times can be found on our General Information page, under the "Testing Hours" tab. The Ohio State University Testing Center has specified closing times for registrations.

Instructors wishing to use our testing services should reference the Exam Submission webpage.

 

OSU Student Registrations

Listed below is helpful information for OSU Course Exam test registrations.

For students signing up for an exam registration, please follow these instructions:

  1. Select the above link to register for an exam.
  2. Select “OSU Testing” and “OSU Course Exams" for the Group.
  3. Select your specific course and the Exam.
    • If your course or exam is not listed, your professor has either not submitted an exam or does not have an account with our center.
  4. Select the Date and Time approved by your professor.
    • If no dates and times are available, registrations are either full, or the Testing Window has ended. You will need to reach out to your professor to extend the Testing Window into days that still contain registrations.
  5. Follow the remaining prompts.

The below items are necessary for exam appointments:

  • Physical Identification (i.e. BuckID, Driver's License, Passport). ID must be unexpired. Digital versions or photos are not accepted.
  • Approved testing materials
  • Phone with Duo Mobile installed (if taking an online exam)

The Testing Center has lockers available for use to store any other items before entering the Testing Room.

The following items are prohibited in the Testing Room at all times:

  • Calculator lids
  • Food & Beverages, including water bottles
  • Tissues not provided by the Testing Center
  • Cell phones
  • Recording devices
  • Photographic equipment
  • Purses
  • Wallets
  • Backpacks and other bags
  • Personal Keys
  • Watches (smart and analog)
  • Fitness trackers
  • Hats and other head coverings, except those for religious purposes
  • Coats and outerwear
  • Nicotine products
  • Any other product determined by the proctor to be a disturbance to other testers or a threat to the security of the examination

The following devices are prohibited without expressed permission from the instructor:

  • Calculators (unless allowed by instructor)
  • Notes
  • Textbooks
  • Personal Computers
  • Drawing/Graphing Tools

The Testing Center has lockers available for use to store any prohibited items before entering the Testing Room.

The Testing Center is a separate department from SLDS and does not have the same system for scheduling exams. Any exams taken within the Testing Center should treated separately. If you are looking to test at the SLDS Testing Center, they can be contacted at slds@osu.edu or at 614-292-3307

 

The Testing Center is able to grant extended time accommodations to any student with currently approved SLDS accommodations. Any other SLDS accommodation is not guaranteed with the Testing Center.

The Testing Center will grant any amount of extended time up until the end of the OSU Course Testing Hours, found on our General Information webpage. We inform students to take into consideration our closing times before registering for an exam.

If your test is set to end after the Testing Center's closing time with your accommodations, we will not be able to provide your full accommodated time. Students agree to the Testing Center's right to stop their exam early in this situation when registering for an exam.

Other Exam Registrations

The Ohio State University offers other types of exams that students may register for. You can find more information about specific exams on our Exam and Testing Services webpage.

 

Below are instructions for each type of exam.

Information regarding EM tests available on the Examination Mark webpage. Please note that some exams require approval before being able to schedule.

To sign up for an EM testing appointment, follow these instructions:

  1. Select the above link to register for an exam.
  2. Select "OSU Testing” and “Examination Mark” for Groups.
  3. Select the course for which you would like to earn credit.
  4. Select the Date and Time to schedule your exam.
  5. Fill out the remaining fields.

To sign up for a CLEP testing appointment, follow these instructions:

  1. Select the above link to register for an exam.
  2. Select "CLEP/DSST" for the Group and which Exam you’d like to schedule.
  3. Select the Date and Time you’d like to schedule your exam.
  4. Fill out the remaining fields.

The OSU Testing Center can proctor exams from other universities/organizations at our testing center. Exam materials must be sent to the Testing Center email address prior to your appointment.

To sign up for a Correspondence testing appointment, follow these instructions:

  1. Select the above link to register for an exam.
  2. Select "Correspondence Exams” for the Group.
  3. Select the length of your test for the Exam.
  4. Select the Date and Time you’d like to schedule your exam.
  5. Fill out the remaining fields.
